Anyone know of any good diet tips (inc exercises) or food suggestions which speed up weight loss?

I'm moving back to Uni in just under a month and would really like to lose some weight! I'm currently visiting a gym frequently and eating lots of salads. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good exercises or foods which help you lose weight quickly, such as speeding up your metabolism?? Any advice would be great!!

If you make a few life style changes you should be able to lose weight within a reasonable time frame you have set for yourself. This is a system that has worked well for me and several friends have also been successful with it.

1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food and fast food. Concentrate on fruits, vegetables, lean meat and fish, whole grains, and low fat dariy products. You probably need about 1500 to 1800 calories a day. Many people make the mistake of not eating enough when they try to lose weight and then become discouraged.

2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses as day. Lots of water is essential. Stop drinking soda and other drinks with useless calories. Eat fresh fruit instead of fruit juices - the juices are very high in calories.

3. Begin a simple weight lifting program at home or at a gym. Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can actually serve as weights for beginners. Buy yourself a good weight lifting book for women. Actually the "dummies" series of books has done a rather good one.

4. Walk, walk, walk. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.

5. Record everything you eat and all your exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that. Basically buring more calories than you take in leads to weight loss. You need a deficit of 3500 calories to lose one pound.

6. If you drive, do less of it and park at the back of the parking lot instead of close to the door. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.

7. A mini stepper is an easy piece to equipment to have at home and gives great results. I bought mine at a second hand store for $4. even if you use it for a minute or two several times a day it can make a big difference.

healthy diet and weight loss plan for A teen?

ok… my friend is wanting to lose weight. dont ask me why because she is really skinny. so she asked me what a good healthy, diet and exercise plan would be. i read alot of beauty and health books so thats probably why she asked me. this is what i told her… i gave her some idead of really healthy food blablabla and gave her her diet plan and the rules for the diet. for her workout plan i told her to exercise 4 times a week for an hour each time. i said for warmups to do 20 pushups, 30 situps, 50 jumping jacks and stretches. she already runs around her block once on sat. and sun. she isnt satisfied. she wants an actual workout and diet plan. please help me! she is really headstrong and stubborn like me and if she dosent get a decent answer who knows what she might do???? i'm worried shes gonna become like anerexic or bulimic or something. please leev alot of details. i would greatly appreciate it. thanx. oh by the way shes 15.

keep up some exercise (an hour a day) as it is good for the endorphins and would help if there is any depression….for weight loss, i got my daughter the satisfied with half portions cd from a company online….she loves it….it allows her subconsicous to guide her during meals, she only listens to it once a day for about 15 minutes and then she can eat whatever she wants and only eats half on her plate…. might help there are plenty of website on the internet that sell this kind of thing we got ours from www.independentachievement.com hope this helps, good luck

whats a reasonable weight loss plan for me?

I’m a 19 year old male, 5′9” and i’ve always been stalky and have a good amount of natural muscle… i probably should weigh about 160 lbs but i’ve gained some weight over the summer and im 195 so whats a good way to loose 35 lbs…. running every day? and how long should i expect to loose it if i eat right and exercise? just what are some good workouts and foods and whats a healthy time period to loose 35 lbs?

okay so i have bout 10-15 pounds to lose. so if i eliminate sweets,excerise daily, get plenty of water and sleep, and down size my portions of food and eat healthy…will it help me lose weight??? how long would it take?

All of those will definetly help you lose weight. And the time that it takes you really depends on your body type. My advice would be to stick with all the exercising, eating right, etc. because it will help you live a happier life and you'll stay slender. Depending on the intensity of everything I would say about 2-4 weeks.

Fast weight loss help!!?

What are the best foods to eat while trying to loss weight. I think part of the reason why i gained so much weight so fast so one because of stress and two because of depression. I have gained 35lbs in just 6 months. I just moved way from all my family and friends to a place that I only knew one person. I moved from Florida were I grew up to Texas where I know just very few people now. When I lived in Florida I had the best beach body and now I don’t even want to look at my swim suits. If so one could please help me by telling me what to do to lose this weight as fast as possible and keep it off that would be great. Please no smart comments like just stop eating and get off my fat butt. I want to know the correct way to lose it all. Thanks soo much.

I have a question about weight loss diet?

Many experts have recommended that to control excessive weight rise, we must cut down on refined carbohydrates like rice and pasta. however, these food are the only nutrients that could keep us 'filled' and satisfyingly full. I mean, without them, we will be extremely hungry. I am trying to revise my diet but on the other hand, retain my energy to deal with daily chores. If my stomach is hungry, i may be vulnerable to gastric etc. The question is, is there any sort of replacement to these refined carbohydrates?If there is, what are the example of food that you recommend?

DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT! worry about carbs or fat or anything else! your body needs carbs and fat to work! just look at calories and figure out your daily caloric intake. that's all it takes! if you are a couch potato and sit on a couch all day and exert nothing you should intake your body weight multiplied by eleven (in calories) to stay at the body weight. so once you figure out your caloric intake.. set a goal to cut that intake. I guarantee you will lose weight after one month if you cut down on your caloric intake! remember.. exercising burns CALORIES so even if you eat the same but work more off.. you'll end up losing weight. so just watch your calories.

Does anyone have any food weight loss ideas?- Urgent!?

People have recommending blending 6 pieces of romain lettuce with two cups of water and then drinking it.

Drinking water with lemon in it and/or green tea first thing in the morning.

I was wondering if anyone had any results to these or anything else to add, I need to lose 3 pounds in 5 days, any help please!

Look for an anti-bloat diet. There is one included in the “Flat Belly Diet Book” It’s basically 1200 calories a day of food that won’t contribute to gas and lots of water. What it does is flush out water weight and other ickys that add pounds and make you look puffy.

Healthy weight loss for a 15 year old girl?

My weight suddenly started to increase dramatically during my freshman year of high school. I went from 130 pounds to 179 pounds in less than a year. I have very long stretch marks all over my body and know that it isn't healthy.

I have been doing an half hour of excercise a day for a week straight and eating an abundant source of veggies and fruits. I lost 10 pounds. I feel a lot better too. My mother is concerned that I am losing it too fast, and I'm starting to feel the same way.

What foods do you recommend? How much excercise should I really be doing? Will the stretch marks go away?

My goal is 130 pounds at February 2008.

You should cut your workouts down to a maximum of 3 times per week. Veggies & fruits are an excellent source of vitamens but remember for proper muscle tone, you need protein. Fish and poultry is an excellent source. Unfortuanetly, the stretch marks will not go aware, they may fade a bit. Try getting you some coco butter and putting it on after showering or before you go to bed.
