What is a good weight loss program on the computer?

Friday, November 28th, 2008

I'm a 44 year old fat man(65 lbs.overweight)and I'm looking for a website that tracks your weight, food diary, and work out days, etc.I once lost the 65lbs….and sadly it came back. Please Help and I'll give "best answer".

Tell you what

To keep the weight off the next time you are at home behind this thing waiting for it to boot

Get on the floor by the chair you are in and do 20 push ups OK not on you toes and hands only
If you can not try on the hands and Knees only

Go down slow and only the nose touches the floor then back up keep back straight no cheater push up sissy push up they are called

Then on your back and do 20 leg lifts 6" off the floor with a Up Spread Together Spread Together down

You will now be at the door step of getting it and keeping it off

How many times have I seen a guy at the gas pump hit it and gave 50 army regulation push ups while the car is filling with $3.05 a gallon

Maybe one day you can be that guy I do it and you wouldn't believe how many people come over and ask why I did it

I get people to look at them selves You just did I tell them I am 61 retired military as my license plate already states
They smile and say I'll have to start doing some I use to be able to.

Fight the Flab: Lose Your Body Fat Fast

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Wee early in the morning, you are looking at the billboards on your way to work. Not so many fat people on them are there? For most people, shedding excess fat is not easy. It takes commitment, motivation, and lots of hard work. One of the hardest parts about attempting to rid your body of the unsightly fat rolls is actually finding a healthy plan to help you do so.

Though you might not realize it, there is a definite difference between losing weight and losing fat. Losing weight refers to dropping physical poundage, whereas fat loss is actually a reference to the reduction of some of the stores of fat which might well be situated on your tummy, thighs, butt, and arms. Blasting your body fat will make you feel much healthier, look much better, and dramatically increase your confidence.

Here are some strategies designed to help you lose body fat fast:

Increase Your Protein Intake

Increasing your protein intake is almost synonymous with decreasing your carbohydrate intake. Protein breaks down into amino acids, which help you build muscle mass, and in the process, more energy is burned processing it. This means a double whammy for your body; you reduce your fat reserves, and tone your muscles at the same time. Eat leafy green vegetables, fresh fruits, lean meats, and poultry for optimal results. Complex carbohydrates are fine in moderation and will actually provide your body with a great source of fiber. Complex carbohydrates include: Cereal, brown rice, and some pastas. Just be sure to exclude starchy carbohydrates and high-fat foods, and you will be on your way to losing some serious fat cells.

Exercise

It sounds boring, but long-duration, low-intensity exercise really does burn fat - and quickly! Aerobic activity is by far the best kind to do. Walking is especially good because it’s easy to do, and most people can walk for quite some time without getting tired. It also spares the all-important muscle mass, which is particularly important if you are not a big protein eater. If you walk at a constant speed on the treadmill, not only will you burn general fat, but you will also tone your butt muscles at the same time, as an added bonus!

Drink More Water

Drinking 6 -8 glasses of drinking water each day will not only decrease your appetite; it will also flush out waste products and toxins from your body. If you replace your usual soda drink with water, you will drastically reduce your sugar intake. Diet soda, though it contains no actual sugar, has been found to carry harmful chemicals which can negatively impact your attempt to burn fat.

Take Time Out between Servings

You might not realize that it takes around 20 minutes after you have eaten for your body to register that it’s full. That horrible bloated feeling that comes from having eaten too much is a direct result of unintentional overeating. If you can eat your food and wait 20 minutes to decide whether or not you are sated before ordering the next course, you will prevent unnecessary food entering your body, eventually being stored as fat.

Losing fat will make you feel great about your body, enhance your confidence, and also allow you to show off some of the buff muscles you have built during your time at the gym!

Weight loss on college cafe food?

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

So I have been trying to lose weight for about a month now. I walk on the treadmill for an hour everyday, and sometimes I do weights. I can't run. However, I am stuck eating dorm cafeteria food, making it difficult to eat healthy. Ugh, not to mention the weight I need to lose is in my midsection and thighs, very difficult places to lose. Any ideas?

I also attend college and its all about making smart choices rather than giving up your options. The residental cafeteria at my school is mostly junk, but I try to make smart choices. Salads, grilled chicken, fruit, vegetables, they usually have a sandwich section with lean turkey meat. Aim for whole wheat breads, drink water instead of sugar, avoid pizza and burgers.
While spot reduction doesn't exist, you are genetically pre-determined to lose weight faster in certain body areas than others. For me, its the stomach. My legs and thighs are the LAST to go. For you, its different. Its about knowing your body, being strong and confident, and making smart decisions. You can do this, I am rooting for you.

Is weight loss a symptom of dipsogenic diabetes insipidus?

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

My brief is "A 19 year old student has recently noticed that he has been much more thirsty and has been producing much more urine than normal. Although eating a high calorific, fast-food diet, he has also lost weight." And I have been led to believe that it is DDI. Any help appreciated.

yes it is. I have what your student has. It can be called several different things. it's refered to as Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency, also look under Pitutarty gland, and the name for the disease is called Insipidus Diabetes which means your lacking growth hormone. First they had me start out with a neuroligist and he took tests of the brain to see what happened. Then he sent me to an encronologist who specializes in Diabetes and she took blood work to see where my levels where. they found my levels were low and that I needed to get hormone replacements. If he has no insurance and needs replacements Eli Lily can get him on a Patients asst program where they pay for the drug. tell him to drink those Ensure drinks as they pack weight on. Start here and you will be on the right road.

No diet weight loss plan

Why weight loss plans don't work

There are two kinds of people who are really going to dislike this article:

1: Those that sell weight loss or diet products.

And 2: Those that expect to keep doing what they’ve been doing and expect a different result.

I wish there was an easy way to say this, but it time to get real. You can only lose weight ONE way: You have to burn off more calories than you consume. NOTHING else will work.

You don’t need to buy a weight loss plan to permanenty lose weight. Free weight loss info is everywhere. Weight loss products are NOT- and never will be- a permanent weight loss solution.

Need some proof?

Then look at facts: Nearly 7 OUT OF 10 Americans are overweight or obese. While spending forty billion dollars annually on weight loss plans, centers, and products.

Do you see ANY real or effective weight loss plans from the giant diet and weight loss industry? I sure don’t. I see billions of dollars sent down the tubes on what are marketed as real weight loss solutions- that don’t do jack.

Healthy and natural weight loss solutions are not in what you buy, there are in what you do.

The ultimate weight loss plan is free.

The best permanent weight loss plan is ALL in your habits.

You have to be willing to change your habits from the unhealthy ones that are causing you to gain weight over to new habits that cause you to lose it. That’s all there really is to a safe and permanent weight loss plan. However, that’s where almost everyone fails. They either try fat loss short cuts that can’t work permanently- like diets, pills, patches, etc. Or they do what works, but they give up BEFORE their new weight loss habits have time to work permanently.

You can buy the most expensive weight loss plan, health club membership, or workout equipment on the planet. It won’t do you a bit of good until you’re ready to have a real showdown with your weight gain habits.

Let me to give you an example. I was looking for a no diet weight loss plan. I don’t have to willpower to go hungry or eat bland food.  However, I drank a lot of soda. Soda has a ton of calories. It took me 3 months to give up the habit of drinking Pepsi. Since I really wanted to lose weight, I knew those sodas had to go. So I had to work on fixing that habit. First, I stopping keeping Pepsi in the house. Then I cut back to smaller amounts when eating out. Then I said only on a few days a week. Then I went cold turkey. Now, I can’t stand the taste of cola, it’s too sweet.

Do you see my personal weight loss plan? I had to learn how to change that weight gain habit- drinking too much soda- over to a weight loss habit- drinking water or iced tea. This is why so many people fail at natural and safe weight loss. They simply refuse to change their habits.

But this is what you MUST do. A permanent weight loss plan is totally in your habits, not in shortcuts you buy as pills or herbs.

200 million people have already proven there are no short cuts to safe weight  loss.

Don’t waste your time OR money- proving it again.

Your habits will not change by themselves. You must take action and MAKE them change.

How Do I Control Cravings For Food When On A Diet?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

One of the hardest things to control when you are on a diet are food cravings. The fact that your food is restricted makes you want the wrong food all the more. And the food types we crave are always the ones that will not help you lose weight like bread, cheese, chocolate, ice cream and peanuts. So what do I do to stop my cravings for the wrong foods.

The first thing I do is make foods that I crave unavailable or at least difficult to get hold of. Get rid of all the foods that are not permitted on your diet from your kitchen. I know that your family will be missing oiut as well but they will know the reasons why.

The second thing to do is surround yourself with permitted foods that you can freely snack. For a low GI diet you can stop your cravings with fruit and fresh vegetables. On a low carb diet like Atkins you can have small pieces of sliced ham in the fridge to munch.

The problem of course is that will not stop you craving for the wrong foods. You may be eating something healthy like a stick of celery but your mind is focussed on cheese or bread. What you have to do is train your mind to crave the good foods instead of the bad ones.

To start with choose a fruit that you enjoy eating. Take the humble apple. Many fruits seem humdrum and ordinary like the eating apple. What I do is say to myself that It is not just an apple. I picture it as a crunchy fresh apple with a glossy red skin that has a bright sweet tangy flavour. You can almost taste it now. By envisioning your food like this repeatedly you will begin to desire and crave good foods.

To try this with another fruit imagine a mandarin. But look at it this way. This mandarin just falls out of its peel and smells of the juice that it contains. When you eat your fresh juicy mandarin it just fills your mouth with tangy flavour. If you really cannot stop eating the wrong food you should start training your mind in this way.

Will my weight loss plan work?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Dear reader,
My name is Emily, i'm 13 years old, i am always depressed and sad, because all i ever worry about is how i look and my weight. I never want to go anywhere or do anything, because of my weight. Like the other day my mom wanted to go to Cuba, but i was all worried and i didn't want to go, because of my weight. I never feel good in a bikini, or just my normal clothes. So i this summer, when school is out, i want to try and lose at least 20 pounds. ( we only have 3 months for the summer)

So i made up a everyday plan:

Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Sunday :

Breakfast- Cheerios+2 fruits
Or, Toast+2 Fruits.

Snack- 1 banana

Lunch- Toasted tomato sandwich or just normal sandwich, or health soup + 2 fruits.

Snack- grapes, or any fruit.

Supper- What ever my mom makes, she always makes good healthy meals.

Ok so thats what i'll eat, but for friday and saturday, i will have 1 meal of junk food. (1 junk meal saturday, 1 on friday)

So do you think i could get thin?
OH and i forgot about the exsersice, but everyday i will go play outside. Something active, like jumping around, running… Than i eat dinner, after dinner i go swimming, and than play around and do active things after swimming. Than from about 2:30 to 4:00 will be like a little break time. Than i will eat supper, and at 6:00 after supper, i will go for a 1 hour walk with my mom. And right before i go to bed, i will do or at least try to do 100 curlups.

yes i think it will

just make sure you stick to it and keep motivated, rmmba the weight isn't gonna majically come off in a few days so be patient

and a good fruit to eat it grapefruit because it speed up the fat burning process and tomatos are very good, if you want veggies are better then fruit so it would be good to fit more veggies then fruit and you shouldn't have any junk food butif you have to try and keep it low in fat and high in protein

good luck

i want to reduce my weight as well as my husbands weight. what is effective way for quick result.?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

i want to reduce my weight as well as my husbands weight. what is effective way for quick result.
my friend told me stretching exercise with hill climbing is very effective? is it so?
one of my friend told me that eating low calories food is effective?
another friend told that doing sex at standing position reduce weight?
one of my friend told that sona belt in combination with weight loss pills is effective?
i am totally confuse? please advise me good weight loss program

In order to lose wieght, you need to consume less calories than you burn in a day. First you will want to figure out how many calories your body burns in a day. There are several calculators available online. You will then need to track how many calories you burn through exercising. If you want to maintain your weight, you need to eat at least that many calories each day. If you want to lose weight, you will want to eat less than the amount you burn. If you want to gain weight, eat more than you burn.

Each pound is approximately 3500 calories. To lose one pound a week, you need to cut 500 calories from your meals or burn at least 500 calories each day. If you are able to cut 500 calories through either diet or exercise you should lose 1 pound a week.

An example:
My body burns approx. 1500 calories a day
I exercise ½ to 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. The amount of calories I burn varies between 300 – 1500. I mainly do cardio (swim, bike, run).
My daily calorie(energy) output is between 1800 and 3000. I maintain a diet of approx. 1400 calories, more on days where I will be doing heavy workouts.

It is important to balance your calorie input and output. If you do not take in enough calories, you will actually be starving yourself. Your body will hold onto the excess weight rather than letting it go. Losing 1-2 pounds a week is healthy and it will stay off. Stay away from fattening foods, things with high sugar content such as fruit juice and soda, and eat plenty of fruits, vegatables and lean meats.

I do not recommend using diet pills as they can mess with your metabolism. You will see weight loss, but it will mostly be water weight and will be regained once you stop taking the pills.

You will lose wieght faster by doing at least 30 minutes of cardio a day. This can be running, cycling, aerobics, swimming, rollerskating, etc. The sky is the limit. By incorporating weight training, the muscle that you gain will help as well as the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns.

For the best results you should see a professional to help you draw out a plan.
