Weight Loss With Water

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Natural, healthy weight loss can occur only by increasing one’s intake of pure, healthy water. Not only the water is the number-one ingredient for a fit and healthy body on the inside; but it also plays the major and lead role in maintaining a youthful and healthy look from the outside.

The quality and the quantity of the water we consume is directly related to the ability of body to metabolize, shed excess fat and maintain the skin.

Weight loss is primarily the result of the liver converting stored fat into usable energy. This process not only requires sufficient water intake, but it can be greatly accelerated by consumption of an abundance of clean, healthy water. Water also suppresses the appetite naturally and helps digest food properly.

Increasing water intake naturally speeds up metabolism and allows the body to better assimilate nutrients from the foods and nutritional supplements we consume, the result being natural and healthy weight loss.
When we do not consume enough water, the upper and lower intestine have a reduced ability to absorb nutrients. The result is that most of the value of our foods and supplements is lost and passes through our body with out being absorbed.

Sugars and carbohydrates are absorbed and processed faster than other nutrients, so without an abundant intake of clean water, we can end up getting all the calories without any of the nutrition. Food cravings are primarily the result of nutrient deficiencies; it’s the body’s way of telling us we need something. If our food is not properly digested, then nutrient absorption is not sufficient, and the body keeps telling us we need something in the form of food cravings.”Sixty percent of all Americans are over weight. This is number one health problem faced by us.” -Surgeon General

A good indication of how much water is enough is to notice how much color is in your urine. Any color at all in the urine usually indicates a water deficiency, resulting in reduced nutrient absorption and a slower metabolic rate.

The quality of the water we drink also greatly impacts the body’s ability to achieve or maintain a certain weight. One of the main functions of the liver is to act as a filter and eliminate toxins from the body. The liver performs this vital process using water in a joint effort with the kidneys. If the water we consume contains chemicals like chlorine, lead or agricultural and industrial pollutants, then much of the liver’s energy is spent on filtering contaminants instead of processing fat into energy. Many recent studies have shown a link between consuming chlorinated water and thyroid dysfunction, which can lead to weight gain.
All weight-loss programs are based on reduced caloric intake and increased metabolic rate, both of which are naturally achieved with an increased intake of clean, healthy water.

Water is also the key ingredient to keep the skin moist, subtle and resilient. The best way to moisturize is from the inside.

Drinking more water will result in softer, healthier, younger-looking skin. Try it: drink an extra glass of water in the morning, one before lunch and one an hour before bedtime. You will be shocked at the results!!!
Truly, water is the key ingredient for healthier skin and natural weight loss.

Do I Need To Exercise To Lose Weight?

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Without doubt the answer to this question would be a yes. Exercise to lose weight and you will not only increase your chances of succeeding, you will get there faster. Dieting to lose weight will work, however continous weight loss is achieved through burning calories, and this will happen when you exercise.

The majority of people chasing weight loss will first turn to their diet. This is completely acceptable because a good nutritious diet will do wonders for your health. However when the word "diet" is metioned, many people tend to think along the lines of cutting back on calories. If you are consuming a lot of calories then cutting down to the recommended daily allowance would be a good idea.

If however you are eating a little bit above the recommended amount, then cutting back on lots of calories will not be that beneficial or healthy. If you wanted to drop 3 pounds a week, it would entail a reduction of almost 10 000 calories a week. That is a lot of calories. This is why you have to exercise to lose weight.

The problem with cutting too many calories is that body is used to recieving a certain number on a daily basis. If you cut back a small amount to start with ( i.e. 150-250 calories), Your body will be prepared to accept this level. If you have a large daily reduction in calories, then your body will mind.

This will make your body think that it is under threat due to the decrease in the calories. To protect itself, your body will switch to starvation mode. Your metabolic rate will come to a virtual standstill as your body tries to preserve as many calories as possible. This is the most common reason as to why so many people start to see their results slow down after a few weeks or months. It is probable that starvation mode is causing thes situation to occur.

When you exercise to lose weight, what happens is that your metabolic rate increases, so that your body starts to burn calories at a much faster rate. What happens is that if you stay with the same calories, weight loss would still occur due to the extra physical activity that you will be engaging in. Burning calories equals weight loss.

If you reduce your calories and begin to exercise, your chances of losing weight are increased greatly, and you won't have the need to go hungry all the time. If you really want to succeed then you have to exercise to lose weight.

Helping You Search For Proper Weight Loss Diets

healthy diet

One week everyone’s eating protein-only. The next week you hear there’s a one-week cabbage soup diet. The following week there’s a liquid-only diet and after that everyone’s hooked on the three-day diet. With so many weight loss fads it can be difficult to know what will work or what is healthy. In fact, many doctors say that most of these diets will in fact work because they require you to ingest fewer calories. However, a healthy diet does not come from eating only protein snacks or frozen foods from Weight Watchers, but rather from a balanced, nutrient-filled routine.

Losing weight begins with a good breakfast. This is a message Americans are told from childhood through educational campaigns, commercials and from their parents. Yet somewhere between childhood and adulthood, many people lose this most basic lesson amid the hustle and bustle of a busy day. One study of 4,218 adults found that women who ate breakfast were much more likely to have a body mass index less than 25, which puts them in the healthy weight category.

Additionally, it was discovered that women who had at least one serving of whole grains each day weighed less and had slimmer waistlines than those who ate none. Cereal is one of the best ways to start the day, particularly ones that offer 5 grams of fiber per serving. Nature’s Path, Kashi and Barbara’s Bakery are all nutrient-packed cereals to look for. Add skim milk and fruit, then enjoy the health benefits of protein, complex carbohydrates, calcium, antioxidants and fiber. Eggs are a surprisingly beneficial breakfast too. The protein leaves people feeling fuller longer and keeps blood sugar at an even keel all day long.

Lunch weight loss takes just a ten-minute change. While quick-and-easy cafeteria food or pizza Fridays may seem ideal during a hectic day of work, studies show that those who bring food from home generally bring healthy foods, smaller portions, slightly less calories and foods packed with more nutrients, healthy fats, protein and fiber. A turkey sandwich, an apple and a yogurt would make an ideal lunch and can be thrown together in less than five minutes. Some people prefer to graze every couple of hours, rather than sit down for a 30-minute lunch. This kind of snacking keeps metabolic rates up and calories burning all day long. Fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, whole grain bread, diced peppers, carrots, broccoli and dip, yogurt, raisins and granola all make healthy snack foods.

To get started with weight loss, www.sparkspeople.com is an incredibly useful site to help dieters track their progress in reaching fitness goals. Signing up is free and members can record their food choices, look up fat/calorie/nutrition information and tally their protein, calories, carbohydrates and fat for the day. They can also record their exercise routines and calories burned as well. To keep motivated, there are numerous articles and message boards where people can tell their personal stories. Additionally, a recipe part of the site will give dieters pointers on eating healthy. With just a few simple lifestyle changes, a person can increase his or her life expectancy significantly, look healthier and feel more productive.

What Are The Free Weight Loss Tips For Teens?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Teenagers are always plagued by many health problems triggered by many factors.  One of the basic issues during this stage is the peer pressure to stay on normal weight, and in much wishful sense, every teen-ager prefers the anorexic-look.

Free weight loss tips for teens
are not suppose to be an issue if only the word “discipline” is properly established in one’s daily living.  What can you think likely of teens?  They will do the worse by not taking any meals, only to feel tired and haggard with the struggle of keeping a trim body.

Where best to start effective teen weight loss if not at home. Usually if the  environment of the house has erratic schedules, chances are the lifestyle is chaotic too, and in some way this can affect the management of food served.  While teens are outgoing, they end up taking dinner at fast food chains or they keep busy in front of TVs nibbling crackers.

Keeping a sensible book on calorie list is better than not knowing the count of each food indiscriminately taken.  A teen can keep this somewhere while keeping track of each food consumption.  Usually, unnecessary drinks also add a scale in the calorie list.  If one is not aware, alcohols have high calorie content, yet it does not give potential benefit for the body.

Ice cream is also one culprit in adding any excess weight to a complete daily diet.  Presume an approximate 450 calories per serving of ice cream, which already comprise almost the third of an average person’s complete meal.  The knowledge of every calorie count does serve as reminder of what could be taken constantly.  In consistent use, one could even memorize the tabulation with ease.

Another free weight loss tips for teens are fruits and vegetables which are important part of diet with lesser amount of calories yet vital in daily processes.  Teens should not forget to take these food groups in larger quantities to help them with an efficient diet rather than fantasize on a big serving of french fries during outdoor activities.  Oily food like cakes and fancy pastries can’t fully satisfy the pang of hunger.  A good serving of natural cereals for breakfast is a good start for the day.

Teen weight loss program should be their focus if they want to be trim.  Advertisements are often the culprit on why teens plunge with different systems of weight loss, which are not necessary for such a tender age.

Usually, product lines of diet pills and tablets may sound encouraging because of the promise of instant effect and false scripted testimonials that go along with the ads.  To look sexy on a prom night, a chubby teen would find it tempting to try any methods.

It means, the only key to free weight loss tips for teens is still the motivation to limit the amount of food taken, plus knowing the right energy (calorie) each food contains for consumption.

Is The Sleeve Gastrectomy With Duodenal Switch A Safe Form Of Gastric Bypass Surgery?

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Of all of the different forms of obesity surgery available now the sleeve gastrectomy with duodenal switch is perhaps the most controversial and, despite the fact that it is widely performed, there are a lot of surgeons who are not prepared to carry out the procedure as a result of concerns over adverse long-term effects on health.

Normally known as a duodenal switch procedure, this type of bariatric surgery is in fact a sleeve gastrectomy with an added duodenal switch. This type of surgery is also sometimes known as a biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch.

The initial part of this procedure is a vertical sleeve gastrectomy where the stomach is divided vertically and approximately 85% is permanently removed. The small remaining sleeve shaped stomach retains the original stomach outlet to the intestines and works just as a normal stomach. This initial part of the surgery is aimed purely at restricting the amount of food that can be eaten and this restrictive surgery is not reversible.

The second phase of the operation is to make the duodenal switch which means adding in an element of malabsorption surgery that is largely reversible. Unlike restrictive surgery which leads to a loss in weight by physically preventing you from eating too much food, malabsorption surgery is designed to limit your body’s capability to absorb calories from from as it travels along the digestive tract.

During surgery the intestine is divided and a small part (normally approximately 150 cm in length) is used to make a bypass from the duodenum, which is situated close to the stomach outlet, to a point near the end of the intestinal tract thereby bypassing the bulk of the digestive tract. The end result of this bypass is that food which passes through the intestinal tract will only mix with the digestive juices in the short section of intestine which is below the switch thus giving the digestive juices little time to digest the food and absorb calories from it.

Despite the fact that the duodenal switch has the advantage of providing the patient with weight loss through both restriction and malabsorption, it is the extent to which malabsorption dominates when it comes to the duodenal switch which gives rise to a lot of the debate surrounding this particular form of surgery. By way of comparison, the traditional Roux-en-Y form of obesity surgery uses a much shorter bypass and the distance over which food is digested is about five times greater.

The argument which a lot of surgeons use against the duodenal switch is that so little absorption takes place that there is too great a risk of anemia, protein deficiency and metabolic bone disease. The vertical sleeve gastrectomy with duodenal switch is also debatably the most complex form of weight loss surgery and many surgeons believe that it carries an unacceptably high level of risk.

However, despite the risks the duodenal switch remains an option and can be very successful, particularly in patients with an exceptionally high body mass index.

Knowing how to attain that goal as what will bring you to the next step. Losing 5 pounds in a week is attainable, but its only with the right diet and exercise with in those 7 days. This article teaches the effective method of dropping those five pounds.

Time to Shift Those Calories

During the week you set yourself to lose 5 pounds, its necessary that you alter some habits. Step one is to shift your calorie consumptions. Instead of just 3 meals in a day shift to eating at least 4 for that week. Now, the thing to do with those meals is reduce them evenly. This way you will kick start your metabolism into thinking your body needs to burn more calories. Then avoid salt and sodium as much as possible to stop water retainage. Then add 2 cups of water every day to what you already drink so that you flush your system of water retainage. This small tweak in diet will alone allow you to lose 2-3 pounds if not more.

Pick Your 3 day Exercise

All you need now since your caloric intake is shifted, is to get rid of the remaining couple pounds with exercise. During the week decide on a medium impact activity for three days out of the week. Jumping rope is a definite recommendation due to its effectiveness. It does not have to be jumping rope but choose something that’s you can do in 10 minutes that will break a sweat.

The Last Bit

Now during those 7 days you are naturally going to have cravings. The trick is not giving in and binging, so to do so drink water. Drinking water when you feel the urge to snack will kill cravings and keep you on track with your goal. When the week is over you should be 5 pounds lighter.

A Look into Weight Loss Supplements

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Summertime is long over however, looking fab and in shape never goes out of season. Regardless if your bathing suit has no use at the moment, you still need to maintain a body that is slim and in shape all year round.

Between the pool parties, beach fun, and usual bouquet of summer weddings, you may very well be looking to drop a few pounds in a flash. While a change in diet and increased exercise activity will certainly get you where you want to go and help you lose 10 pounds, they may not do it in the speed you are wanting. Too bad fairy godmothers do not really exist. This might just be a job for a weight loss supplement.

The Mighty Magic Pill

The market for weight loss supplements has exploded exponentially over the recent years. They even have their own aisle in supermarkets and drug stores. There are ads on television, in newspapers and magazines, and on billboards along the road. You can hardly surf the internet anymore without tripping over at least a dozen weight loss supplement advertisements as pop-up web sites and in your email inbox promoting the latest and greatest pill that will help you lose 30 pounds in a month.

Before you fill out any online order forms, you should first consider if a weight loss supplement is the most ideal diet route to take. Also, which of the many brands and labels is the best weight loss supplement for you? It is always important to consult your family physician before beginning any kind of diet regimen, including weight loss supplements. This is especially prudent if you have any health problems and are taking medication.

If you are looking for a magic pill that will allow you to eat anything and everything you want without having to exercise and promises to help you lose 20 pounds fast and transform you into a supermodel in two days, you might as well ask the Mad Hatter and that white rabbit about it during your tea party on Mars. Those weight loss supplements do not exist, and anything that claims to is probably not safe to take in the first place.

A company spokesperson is not the best authority to tell you if their product works, but rather the people who have actually tried it. Consumer reports can be found in the local newspaper, through news stations on television, and through the internet. Look for testimonials that are not on the weight loss supplement product’s web site. In the end, the only way to know if something works is to try it for yourself and see what, if anything, actually happens.

Cellulite Surgery: Cure Worse Than Condition

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Any sensible doctor will tell you that cellulite surgery is a risky, expensive procedure that is not guaranteed to get rid of your cellulite. Unless you are a Hollywood actress or a supermodel pulling in millions with your looks, forget about cellulite surgery. Any time you go under the knife exposes you to internal infection which can be fatal. Why take the risk?

Different From Liposuction

Cellulite surgery is not to be confused with liposuction. It actually is not only a different procedure, but requires a qualified surgeon to legally perform it. Sadly, there are currently no surgical qualifications needed to do a liposuction, although you do have to have a medical degree.

Liposuction does not permanently remove cellulite, although many Hollywood starlets swear by the treatment. The advantages to liposuction are that the scarring is minimal and you usually do not have to stay in a hospital or the plastic surgery clinic overnight. Liposuction focuses on removing the fat right under your skin.

Cellulite surgery, however, is a little different. This is a longer procedure with you being completely knocked out. The scarring is more. The aim of cellulite surgery is to completely remove the fat cells from the specific areas of cellulite that you and the surgeon have targeted. It’s sort of like liposuction, intensified.

Great Expectations

You should not expect either liposuction or cellulite surgery to completely get rid of every millimeter of cellulite on your body. You also won’t be admired by strangers more or feel any better about yourself. And, like with anything else, results will vary among individuals. A respectable surgeon will ask you what you expect from cellulite surgery and tell you the facts.

Not every person is a suitable candidate for cellulite surgery. You have to be reasonably healthy to begin with and nor morbidly obese. You also should be less than 50 years old. Any reputable plastic surgeon will insist on contacting your usual doctor to be sure of your health. Even then, if you have a low tolerance for anesthesia or have certain skin conditions, you may not be approved for cellulite surgery.

Keep in mind that this is a procedure that can cost – on average – of $5000 (US). That’s a big chunk of change in the name of vanity. Don’t think your health insurance company is going to help you cover the sots, because they won’t. No health insurance will cover any cosmetic procedure like cellulite surgery.

Similar articles you can read about the shoulder workout or warm up exercises. All in order to gain a Great Body.
