Weight-loss foods? Help me?

I’m 14 and a size 11. I’d like to lose some weight in my stomach area. I know that’s not possible, because it’s targeted weight-loss. I walk about a mile, at least, a day. My only huge drawback is my dad buys all the unhealthy food you could think of. Pies, cake, cookies, brownies, all that. What are some healthy foods I can add to the grocery list? Breakfasts, lunches and dinner foods.. some snack foods, and even low-fat baked goods mix if that exists.

fruits and veggies. all the healty stuff is on the outside edges of the store. its not found in the rows! if ur eating junk food and u dont want to eat anymore..give it to dad or cover it in salt..yuck! u can also look up healty ways to make the junk food he likes. i eat everything sugar free and u cant taste the diffrence!

u can safly loose 2 to 3 lbs a week like i did. it took me 9 months to lose 90 lbs. everyday is filled the choices..keep making the right ones and ur weight will fly off. jus breathing and relaxing u burn somthing like 1400 so jus make sure that ur burning more then ur consuming.

u can check out youtube for free vidioes too. i do hip hop abs with shaun t and super abs with billy blanks! i am now learning to belly dance..all cuz of the free vidoes there. i look so good i git hit on by guys 1/2 my age!

what else helped me was when i put up a calender and i marked off what i did on each day and i felt better with th most days marked, and it was in my livingroom right where i see it all the time! good luck.

work out everyday..alteast cardio. and push urself harder. i too was at a plautue then i relized i was doing "light" weights..when i wanted to have my muscle burn my fat!

another tip is to git like 3 lunch bags (the cooler type) and make up all the food that u will eat for the day and put it in 1, making 3 bags at a time will help on days when u dont feel like the hassle u can grab one and go. it works for me, i fill mine with 100 calorie pack of chips, gum, fruit and a few powers to add to my drinks. i freeze 3 water bottle and not only can i drink them but they keep my food cold!

and what is ur calorie intake? are u maxing out everyday? i found for me that staying under 1000 worked better for me! join sparkpeople.com that is an awsome site. u can download a diet plan and a workout plan. plus there is tons of info and tips!

I am really keen to lose some weight and stop procrastinating. I want to generally lose weight everywhere, but mainly in my stomach. I know that the best way is to eat healthy and exercise, and I’m doing that, but are there any healthy food suggestions?

okay i’m starting a new healthy eating plan and wanted to know how long it will take me to lose 14lbs. at the moment i’m 5 foot 4 and 127.8lbs and i want to get back to my normal weight of 114 lbs. i’m eating 1 and a half weetabix with half a banana for breakfast. for lunch i have a small greek salad (about the size of 2 small fists) with 2 rice cakes or a scrambled egg (no milk) with 2 rice cakes or a small bowl of soup and for dinner i have no carbs and a smaller portion of food (about the size of 3 small fists). i’m 19 and not hugely active…i take the dog for a long walk every other day (about an hour on the beach) and i try and dance for about an hour a day. if i continue this plan how long roughly will it take me to lose weight? any other weight loss tips would be amaaazing thanks

are there anythings i can buy from wal-mart that will be cheap and help me shed off the lbs…..i have a few things in mind but i really want to stock my house with healthy food….can someone make me a grocery list! im 20 years old by the way….thanks for the help!

Here’s a pretty good list from bodybuilding.com for healthy fat-loss foods:

* Oatmeal (quick oats unflavored)
* Frozen chicken breast in a bag (you can buy these in bulk)
* Almonds (plain, unsalted)
* Eggs to boil (purchase several dozen at a time)
* Ground turkey (cheaper in bulk as well)
* Cottage cheese (or yogurt, low fat of course!)
* Frozen vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, green beans, etc.)
* Beef (if you can afford it)
* Brown rice
* Whole wheat pasta
* Whole grain breads (they do have protein bread now)
* Salad greens (lettuce, tomato, cucumber)
* Canned tuna (try to limit to 3 cans a week if possible)
* Fresh fruit that may be on sale

I really need to lose weight for health reasons cause I am considered overweight based on my height. I want to lose weight. What can I eat that will give me the nutrients I need while also helping to lose weight quickly?

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Healthy weight loss–have you ever tried just eating plenty of wholesome foods?

I’m pushing 50 and climbing over 200 pounds on a 5′10" frame. I’m wondering about just cutting out the junk food and eating a gracious plenty of healthy veggies, fruits, low fat meat, low fat dairy and whole grains. Treats and nuts would become weekly, rather than daily, fair. Ever tried it? Did it work? Any problems? Thanks.

My father went to the doctor and was told his cholesterol was high. Doctor put him on a non-fat diet. He ate all he wanted, whatever he wanted but stuck to the non-fat diet. With almost no effort he lost 25 pounds. It was a slow process, but yes I think it will work.

If you eat like you’re suggesting you’ll go even faster.

Healthy weight loss tips for teens?

I’m 15 years old.
I stand at about 5′2.
I weigh around 130-140.
It fluctuates constantly.

My mom was always a "curvy" girl at my age.
Once she hit her twenties she started getting underweight.

I don’t exactly wanna waste my childhood/teenage years
being at a weight that’s uncomfortable for me. I don’t wanna
"wait it out" I try eating healthy and I exercise for about 30 mins
a day but It’s difficult for me to drop just one pound!

Try to keep the answers positive- I suffer from anxiety and depression. The last thing I wanna hear is criticism.
I AM exercising. I do sports occasionally. I don’t want pills. Special foods and where I can find them would be better.

well last year i was 16, 5"6 and 240 i lost 100 pounds by completey cutting off soda, using less salt in my foods, drinking green tea, eating just a little healthier. And using the treadmill about 3 times a week ( the secret for me was putting the treadmill on 2.5-3.0 while watch a movie/show on my computer, sometimes i was on it for like 2-3 hours will out even realizing it ( i suggest headphones and an action movie, it pumps your adrenaline up and you end up walking faster).
