Healthy foods for weight loss?

What are some foods you can eat a lot of without gaining weight? Is it true that you can eat as many green vegetables as you want?

I need sort of a rough guide on how much to eat, how many times a day to eat, and what to eat. Im trying to lose about 15 pounds.
I am a pescetarian…im a vegetarian who eats fish.

You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don't eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you'll need added potassium). Keep your fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn't get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn't slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

Carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want "something" have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won't feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

Does this sound like a healthy diet? (Diet = food consumption, not weight loss method)?

During the school week:
-Half cup of black coffee after school
-2 pieces of celery and 2 cups of water for dinner

Weekends:
-Glass of water for breakfast
-1/4 cup skim milk for lunch (Can't drink more than that without getting sick)
-2 pieces of celery and 2 glasses of water for dinner

I'm 15, 5'3" and 120-ish lbs. Depends on the day.

If that is all you are eating, then that is not good.

Healthy weight loss routine?

Im 15 and weigh 128 pounds
id like to lose weight, but i want to be healthy while i do it. During the week, with schoolwork and friends i have a hard time going out and exercising, other then walking home from school (25 minute walk).
What are some things i could do at home to exercise, and some other things for the weekend? What is a good daily routine? As for food, my parents only shop at whole foods and i eat pretty healthy. If someone could post a weekly routine of diet and exercise for me that would be greatt! thanks :]

Whatever you do, DON'T use weight loss pills! That's not the way to lose weight, especially for someone like you who doesn't weigh that much anyway! Plus those drugs won't help your health. You're young enough to take control of your health in a more positive way.
I'd recommend just light exercise, since your eating habits seem healthy enough anyway. If you diet as well, then you'd lose too much weight too fast, and you'd end up like a stick insect.
Jogging is the best way to lose weight and tone up fast. Though if you think that you might not be fit enough to jog then try this -

Time yourself -
Jog slowly for 2 mins, then walk for 3 mins. Then jog for another 2 minutes and walk for 3 minutes again. Repeat this about ten times.

As you keep doing this, maybe three times a week, then its remarkable how quickly you'll build up resistance and fitness and lose pounds too. Eventually you'll be able to jog for much longer. But if you don't want to leave the house, then i'd recommend buying some light weights, or using tins of food if you cant get weights, and then doing lots of curl repetitions. Anything that works up a sweat is good. But make sure you keep eating enough, and whatever you do, don't take pills. Those are for lazy clinically obese people. So take control now whilst you're still young, and then these habits will last a lifetime, and allow you to have a healthy life when you're older. I started exercising when i was in my mid teens, as i was a little overweight too, and it was the best decision i made as i am much healthier and happier now. Just build an exercise routine, nothing too strenuous, and you'll reap the rewards. It's amazing how quickly you can tone up by just doing a light jog every once in a while.

So please be sensible, because it sounds to me like you're fine as you are anyway!

Healthier foods for weight loss ?

I am trying to lose weight. At first I was just told to exercise and decrease calorie intake WHICH I DID..Now I'm being told that if I don't cut out junk food like sunchips, subs, hot dogs, fries and etc..I won't see results at all..So I was thinking if I just ate a lot of fruit mainly grapes and bananas along with a sub would that be a start ?
Should I just try a fruit diet ?

It sounds like you're doing fine. Losing weight is a slow process and you can get easily discouraged. Keep it up. You will see results and you'll feel better too. Do cut down on the junk food though. If you are going to have some though, once a week and as a reward for a good training session (weight training perhaps). And maximize good foods. So if it's hot dogs you like, buy whole wheat buns, turkey dogs and use mustard and veg to fill (tomato and cucumber as an example). If you keep that kind of habit up, you'll eventually wonder how you ever ate regular hot dogs in the first place.

What food helps with weight loss ?

I am currently on a quest to weight loss..I ate the right amount of calories to lose weight, but I was told that if I don't eat healthy food I wouldn't see results..Sometimes I get subs from subway with veggies, other times I eat burgers, hot dogs and fries at my job..I thought I was doing good with the calorie intake..I guess not…what food do you recommend..

Honestly ,the only healthy subs are subway are the "healthy" ones listed on their napkins. The others like, spicy italian or meatball have over 1000mg of sodium and around 500 or more calories. A LOT! So if you are eating subway, be sure you aren't eating bad sandwiches.

No soda or sugars, no chips, NO fries. Fries are cooked in oil and oils carry nothing but fats and calories. No burgers. These are high calorie foods. Here is a government website that tells you how to eat better and even has simple, yummy recipes at the end. Cook at home.

What are good weight loss foods for prom? (this has to be safe, not starvation diets!!!)?

My aunt got me a surprise prom dress, but it is about an inch to small. I have been running extra and eating insanely healthy for about two months, but nothing is budging!!! What are some "magic" foods that you can eat all the time in order to easily lose weight? (this is in addition to my regular exercise routine)

and restaurants that have GOOD TASTING things to eat
that won't be filled with tons of fat and calories?

please just tell me the restaurant name and the healthy things to get there…i don't really like salad so only mention it if it's a really delicious one.

help me with a healthy weight loss?

I weight about 11 stone a half. I'm 5 foot 7, bust 36" waist 30" hips 38"
I want to get to 10 stone maybe.
I need tips for a diet (but keep in mind I cant control what I eat at dinner time) and exercise plan that isn't too difficult for someone who is a stranger to hard exercise
But not a diet which is fad, I don't want to have to cut out food groups because I know it's unhealthy.

Eating tips for healthy weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight the healthy way; by eating right and exercising more. I'm just looking for some tips on ways to eat healthy foods. For example; eating a piece of fruit for breakfast, or substituting certain foods for others. I'll take anything. I'm not being obsessive about it, but I'm just looking for some simple things I can do to lose some weight.

If you want something simple, you just follow these rules:
1. Eat lots and lots of vegetables and fruits
2. Eat less carbs, cholesterol, fat and oily meals.
3. Exercise regularly

What is a good weight-loss dog food?

My dog is 13lbs. and she needs to be around 10 - 9lbs. We are walking everyday twice a day but it is time to change her dog food. Right now she is getting 1/4 cup 2x’s a day of Flint River dog food ( flintriver.com ) which is a high calorie very healthy food. It is is great for our other dogs who hardly eat anything at all but my dog is always hungry.

What is a healthy low calorie dog food that really works?

i would read the back of the dog food bag- it tells how much you should be feeding a dog for it to be at its correct weight.

however, you can always buy something like a “weight smart” dog food. eukanuba is a professional brand dog food, try that. also, they have special diet dog foods at veterinarians.
