Ketosis weight loss diet for vegetarians?

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

I am trying to start a ketosis diet to lose weight but I am a vegetarian. What are some good foods that I could eat? I read egg whites and cheese are good and protein powder, but no nuts. My main protein income is usually nuts and beans. Are beans still ok? And it says to up the fat intake. I only get about 5% of the daily fat as it is and barley lose weight. Uping the fat doens’t make sense.. How would that help me lose weight? I do not want to take meds or anything to induce ketosis.

Beans are too high in carbs to throw you into ketosis (unless you’re hardcore at working out).

If you are really looking for the best weight loss diet, I suggest doing what this mom did, combining the Acai diet with a cleansing program for the best diet result

I have a question about weight loss diet?

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Many experts have recommended that to control excessive weight rise, we must cut down on refined carbohydrates like rice and pasta. however, these food are the only nutrients that could keep us ‘filled’ and satisfyingly full. I mean, without them, we will be extremely hungry. I am trying to revise my diet but on the other hand, retain my energy to deal with daily chores. If my stomach is hungry, i may be vulnerable to gastric etc. The question is, is there any sort of replacement to these refined carbohydrates? If there is, what are the example of food that you recommend?

eat lots of fruits and vegetables…they have plenty of complex carbs. If you must eat bread or pasta stick to 100% whole grain. If you are really looking for the best weight loss diet, I suggest doing what this mom did, combining the Acai diet with a cleansing program for the best diet result

Do you lose weight continuously when following a weight loss diet?

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

If I follow a 2 pounds a week weight loss plan for 14 weeks will I lose 28 pounds by the end of it or will there be a point where I will stop losing weight even if I eat the same food/low calorie diet?

You cannot lose weight using Low Fat Diets. Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes. This fact alone should tell you that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight.

You won’t lose weight using a Low Calorie Dieting Plan either. In fact, eating low calories is the worst thing that you can do to your body, since that will only slow down your body’s fat burning engine and ruin all chances of losing weight. Low calorie diets may allow a few pounds of weight loss for the first few days, but then after that all weight loss comes to a halt — known as a dieting plateau. You can never get slim by starving yourself.

A healthy weight loss program is one which does not make you lose weight in such a manner that your health is spoiled. Starvation is not a worthy way to lose weight because most people will fail to abide to the program rules after a certain period.
Many such programs and diet plans go overboard in their attempt to make people lose fat rapidly. Fad diets or starvation diets are a definite no-no. There are so many harmful effects of starving yourself and not eating properly. And many times you would not lose body fat with such fad diets, instead you will lose water weight. Similarly - low carb diets, low protein diets etc. that make you eat only a certain kind of food and not others are also not a very good method of weight loss.

If you are really looking for the best weight loss diet,
I suggest doing what this mom did, combining the Acai diet with a cleansing program for the best diet result

Do-
Have lots of fruit and veg
Have 3 servings a day of wholegrain carbs to keep your energy up
Have 3 servings of lean protein for organ repair.
Drink lots of water to stop yu feeling hungry

Dont have many crisps, cake, chocolate, soda or biscuits
Don’t cut out carbs as this is dangerous and means you’ll gain the weight straight back
Don’t panic if you give in to temptation. Just get back on track the next day.
Most importantly, don’t give up. It will work if you stick with it.

Ketosis weight loss diet for vegetarians?

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Some foods you should stock up on are… (in net carbs)
- Macadamias (1.5 for 12 nuts)
- Yves veg hot dogs (~2 per dog)
- Firm tofu (7/100 g)
- Almonds (2.5 for 23 nuts
- Edamame (10 for 1 cup shelled)

Any hard cheese is fine; just have one thumb sized stick of it max per day. Also, whole eggs are less than 1 carb per egg. Meat analogues tend to be good choices, too, just read the labels carefully.

Fat - the fat satisfies your hunger and keeps up your calories - you’re not trying for starvation. Also, you’re trying to convert from carbs as your energy source to fat burning.

Did I ruin my whole weight loss diet with this food..? I feel like crying please help and be honest?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Okay. So I'm 15, 5'3 and I started dieting when I am 120 lbs. I've been on a very good, healthy diet for about a week now, I probably have lost about 2 pounds. So I'm probably around 118 now?

Anyways. So I've been doing SO good. Today I went to my friends birthday party, not to mention it is the first day of my period (MASS CRAVINGS). She had SO MUCH GOOD FOOD! lol. She had stuff like chips and dip, burgers, fries, fruit salad, cake, cookies, brownies, etc.. ! Urgh!
As you know, I am on the first day of my period and my cramps were kinda bad. This also drove me to have really terrible cravings, to the point where I was obsessed with satisfying my cravings! I wanted it then and there. So, I gave in at the birthday party. I had about everything there. I'm planning to bounce back to my regular diet tommorrow, maybe start off kinda easy to get back into the groove. I was literally grazing on everything there. xD Will this make me gain a pound, even if I go back to my usual diet?
By the way, I am going to seriously be good about everything once I bounce back into the groove again. I just want to lose 10 lbs to get to 110 lbs. =/

Will this throw me off track?
Come on, you know how it is.. xD Your period can drive you nuts with cravings, especially with your favorite foods laid out in front of you! At parties, everyone eats and has a good time.. Which is what I did. ;_;

I CANT STOP EATING TODAY. IS THIS FROM MY PERIOD? UGHH!

Don't stress about it. It was one day of binging.

And what is your weight loss goal? The healthy weight for you at your age and height is 115. Losing two pounds a week until you plateau is about right, but be wary of the scale, a normal person's weight changes throughout the day depending on food and water weight, so expect to see fluctuation.

Way to be healthy, but you are already thin, so don't get obsessed with it. You are allowed to have junk food, just do it spareingly. (Like only at parties!)

Are brazil nuts good for weight loss diet?

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Say I have 60g worth, which contains 42g of fat, 10 of which are saturated.

Bearing in mind I'm not getting much fat from other foods in my diet. And these are good fats right, if I have a 60g serving with 40g berries twice a week is this OK?

Nuts in a diet are good for a protein hit, but bear in mind that one cup of most sorts of nuts is your entire recommended fat allowance per day. They're good but don't go nuts (haha!!!) each day. What you're doing now, having them twice a week with berries, is perfectly fine!

Anyone have a link to a healthy diet (not weight loss diet) plan?

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

I'm sick of eating fast food all the time and would like to start eating healthier. I'm not overweight or anything I recently quit smoking and am trying be healthier all around. BTW I'm a 22 year old Male if that makes a difference. I'm aware of the food pyramid and everything but I just thought it would be nice if there was something that had some good ideas on what to make or a schedule of some sort to follow. Any ideas would be helpful

I am also a 22 year old man who used to eat fast food at least one meal every day. For sure, it gets extremely addicting (just watch the movie "Supersize Me!"). The first step is to break this addiction.

One diet that I'm starting to adopt is called the fatloss4idiots diet. It help you by generating a healthy diet plan with the food you chosen and the best thing is it help me loss 50 pounds in 4 months. Visit this site to read more about it:

What are some great high protein/low carb foods to eat while on a weight loss diet?

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Low carb/high protein- think nuts. Almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, etc.
Check the labels, as many nuts have few carbs (after subtracting fiber from total carb count), but some like pistachios have more.

soy is also decent as it has lots of fiber
flaxseed (lignans)
hempseed is also good (& legal)
