I don’t have an eating disorder, I’m not overweight, and I dont really care about losing weight really fast. I just am, and have always been very unhappy and hung up with my body. I tried acceptance, but it only goes so far. So I decided I should stop complaining and worrying and just do something about it to make myself happy. I’m planning my diet like this: Eat fruit or a snack before physical activity or when I feel faint, but thats it. Also im going to get some vitamins to take. I didnt eat anything yesterday, and havent eaten yet today but will when I go to my tae-kwon-do class. I just dont want to beat around the bush with this weight loss thing, i wanted a surefire way to lose wieght, and the only way i can stick to a diet is if i believe i will see results. I know a person can live for 2 weeks without food, but how long can they go and still function normally? 2 days? 3? More? Also, anyone know how fast I might lose wieght? Or if in some freak way im going to end up gaining weight? Who knows these days!!!
Also, im not too worried about gaining the weight back. Im not gonna start eating alot right after i get to my desired weight, i think i will handle things well. And i’m looking to lose 10 pound minimum (im really tall so thats not alot).
darnint. I was worried about that whole hibernation/survival mode kicking in thing. It actually happened to one of my friends…… whats the best way to avoid this an still limit my food intake? eating breakfast to kickstart my metabolism each day maybe?
OKAYOKAYOKAY! i dont have an eating disorder, seriously, but yes i do have alot of body image issues….. i have a skewed image of beauty, and to me skinny is beautifull, so i just want to lose some wieght and stop obsessing over my body! I cant take the hate inside myself anymore. i just want to do something about it, and this seems easiest…..
What’s the best way to loose fat?
Put-on muscle.
What are you doing with your starvation diet?
Turning muscle tissue into energy and storing fat.
When you start eating you will put-on all the wieght you lost, PLUS more…up to double, why? Your body has less muscle to burn fat, so the same amount of food means calories being turnd into fat, ’cause they can’t be burnt by the body.
Also, since you’re scavanging muscle (and eventually organs) for the energy, you are also doing damage to all of your body’s systems…and that can be fatal.
If you need to loose weight…have your doctor check to see what your Body Fat Percentage (BF%) is…if you’re an adult woman, you should be about 22% body fat (+/-4%) to be in the "healthy" range. If it turns-out that you have 22% body fat, maybe you just need to put some extra muscle under the skin to give some definition?
As for how long it will take to starve to death - doing next to nothing, well over a month, and the last few weeks will be VERY painful.
You should be consuiming a minimum of about 1200-1500 calories a day, every day…with most of them being from non-fat sources. You also need a certain amount of protein and fat in your dietary intake to keep everything healthy. Talk to your doctor, and if necessary, have him/her make you a referral to a dietician who can help you design something for you.
For actual weight loss, (unless you’re under medical supervison) your target should be about 2-3 pounds a week *maximum*, and remember to keep your self suffciently hydrated. If you’re feeling thirsty, you’ve already waited too long!
Good Luck!

you’re in complete denial. check yourself into a body image disorder clinic.
if the word "starvation" seems at all rational to you then you are within the parameters of what the state refers to as
"is a danger to herself or others"

You preface this with "i dont have an eating disorder" if you are not eating for days at a time for the sake of losing weight then you DO have an eating disorder…I feel like this may be an attention seeking post… but this isnt a smart way to go about weight loss.. because you will end up gaining weight.. if you starve yourself then your metabolism shuts down and every calorie you ingest will be stored by your body as a survival technique and you will gain weight instead of burning fat. If you dont want to beat around the bush as you said.. and you really want to lose weight then get serious about it and dont take the easy way out by starving yourself.. eat right and kick you butt in the gym

When you starve yourself, your body goes into survival mode and starts accumulating fat, like a bear about to go into hibernation. Lack of food also attributes to depression, fatigue, and illnesses. It’s healthy to eat less than the 2,000 calories recommended, and make sure you’re eating out of all the food groups. Get a good night’s sleep, and don’t skip meals which leads to a binge during your next meal. Eat three meals a day and a few bites for a snack in between. Don’t eat before you go to sleep. Also, if you eat smaller portions, your appetite will shrink over time. It takes about 20 minutes for your body to realize that it’s full, so eat slowly. Exercise daily. The only way to lose weight is through moderation.

You will not lose weight like that, you will die. I’ll just put it out there.
You want to lose weight? Here’s your surefire way.
Imagine your body has a motor that starts right when you wake up. This is your metabolism. And it’s your metabolism that helps you lose weight. It can only keep going fast if it’s fueled (you eating). If it’s not, your metabolism will start taking it’s fuel from your reserve, so when you do eat, the food you consume will not feed you, your motor will put it back into it’s reserve. This means the food will not feed your muscles, and the Tae-Kwon-Do class you’re taking will be a big fat waste of money… and I know those classes will run you a lot. But if you so choose to eat the way you do, you might eventually lose the weight when all your reserve is gone, but you’ll also lose your hair, your skin will lose it’s elasticity (it will be saggy and loose), and when you start eating again, it will be too late to repair some of the damage. Hey, it’s your body, but to lose weight effectively, you have to eat healthy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as healthy snacks throughout the day, and work out. That’s about it. Good luck to you!
