I have read that to lose weight more efficiently, one should eat 5-6 small meals per day instead of 3 big ones. What are the best foods to eat at these small meals to keep me from getting too hungry and promote weight loss?

Hi,

If you are looking for the best diet pills, I suggest doing what this mom did

Combining the Acai,Cleanse and Rezveratrol program to get the best result

Best Wishes,

I would think about 5 pounds would be great to lose in a week. I know people says it is not good but I think it would be fine if you are not doing it all the time. Only do it for like 2 weeks and don’t do it anymore. Let me know if it works for you if you do it sounds great! Good Luck!

Hi, I’m 20 and weight 295-300lbs, 5′10. It’s not all fat, I can move quite well, and have a lot of muscle, but a good layer of fat over it. So the question is how can I lose a lot of this fat very fast and keep as much muscle as possible?

I figured I’d work with just eating white rice with one protein bar per day and try my best to exercise.

The ideal target is to become fitter (I’m not expecting miracles) within three weeks to a month. I’m not the most disciplined person, or hardest worker, and I absolutely adore food (I didn’t hit 300lbs by magic) so it will be hard, but any help or advice would be great.

Thanks

you should eat at least 4-5 meals a day.

drink lots of water, and eat regularly. don’t starve yourself, because once you start eating again, you’ll gain everything back, trust me.

eat lots of fruits and veggies, and if you eat bread, make sure it’s whole grain. white bread is pretty fattening. you can also eat lean meats, like fish, turkey and chicken breast. eggs also help when trying to lose weight.

skip out on sweets, candy, sugary foods, chips, ice cream, cake, and cookies.

if you feel hungry, but don’t want to over eat, chew gum. it’ll keep your mouth busy and it tricks yourself into thinking your eating.

cut out ALL soda! if you stop drinking soda, it helps you out a lot!
and don’t forget to exercise!

try walking, jogging, jump rope, dancing, crunches, bike riding and swimming. try exercising for 45-80 minutes a day.
good luck!

I plan on…

-limiting my intake of meats to special holidays

-drinking waters (flavored, mineral, etc) , herbal teas(brew green tea, regular tea for iced tea, etc), and normal coffee instead of lattes and mochas…

-avoiding fried foods, including fries

-Doing an hour long workout four days a week that consist of stretching, weight lifting, and getting my cardio up.

Will this help me to lose 50 pounds by May and keep them off forever?

Any more tips?

Thanks

Limiting meat is good, and instead of having a steak or something, go for a grilled chicken instead.

Flavoured waters & mineral waters have as much sugar in them as coke does.

You need to exercise everyday also.

Im a 17 year old male i am 6′3 and weight 280 lbs i want to lose at least 80 pounds by 12/25/2009 it is now 10/24/2009 do you think i can do it?? and if so do you think you could give me a good diet and exercise plan thank you it would help alot if you could put amount of food and exercies needed thanks in advance =)

by the way i dont have a gym membership or anything like that
so if you could give me excercises that i can do out side a gym it would also help alot. and also have a low budget for food
oh and another thing does how late you go to sleep and how late you wake up affect weight loss at all?

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
The time you go to sleep has no direct impact on your weightloss. But people who stay late tend to eat late, and sleep late, so when they get up, they feel out of sort and tired (sleeping too late makes people tired, new studies show), so they tend to overeat during the day, too.

Yeah I know, weird question right? You don’t eat food to lose weight but that’s not what I mean. What are the right foods to be eating. My dad recommended oatmeal for breakfast because it keeps you full. Any others…O and I know this probably isn’t good but I really don’t like vegetables, especially cooked ones. Cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots aren’t terrible though, just not cooked vegetables.

Oatmeal
Peanut Butter
Lean Chicken and Turkey
Nuts (especially Pistachios)
Low Fat Cottage Cheese
Fruits
Vegetables
Spinach
Whole Wheat anything. NO OTHER TYPE OF BREAD/PASTA

Instead of frozen yogurt, try mixing one cup of non fat yogurt (plain or vanilla) and adding fruits like strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and freezing it. You got yourself a tasty treat! With half the calories!

Replace chips, pretzels, any other type of high carb food with pistachios. They’re the lowest calorie nut, and have loads of heart healthy benefits!

Example Meal:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with Banana. Water. Green Tea.

Snack: Cottage Cheese or Fruits (strawberries or an apple)

Lunch: Whole Wheat Bread, with Turkey and Low Fat swiss cheese. Spinach and Tomato for veggies. Carrot Sticks.

Snack: Pistachios

Dinner: Chicken. Sweet Potatoes. Summer Squash or Carrots. Skim Milk. Or Low Fat Milk.

I live in the dorms and don’t really have extra money to eat special diet foods and stuff. I have a dorm meal plan. I also excercise every other day. what foods can I eat that help metabolism?

Most foods don’t directly affect your metabolism. However, eating foods that are full of antioxidants and phytochemicals will promote better health (which in turn can help you body to lose weight). Of course, the best sources of antioxidants and phytochemicals are vegetables, fruits, and seasonings (oregano, thyme, rosemary, and other such seasonings are actually plants in themselves and have their own antioxidants). In a dorm situation, getting in your fruits and vegetables shouldn’t be too difficult, but it could get a bit boring.

Most importantly, vary the foods you eat. Instead of having a plate full of lettuce, have a plate full of spinach, carrots, squash, beets, etc. Diversifying your diet will make the biggest improvement! Similarly, things like nuts, seeds, soy (tofu), cheese, eggs, and such are also commonly overlooked, but are often available at salad bars.

Aim to get enough protein, not just from beef and pork (which often has more calories), but through chicken and fish. Fish is especially good since it has omega nutrients. Pare this with some brown rice or whole grain pasta and some fruits/veggies, and you’ve got yourself a pretty healthy meal. Pastas in themselves also aren’t bad for you, but most dorm selections of these should be limited (often due to the sauce/oil that goes with them).

Although dorm food usually isn’t as customizable as other places, you can still look for items that are grilled, broiled, or baked as opposed to fried. Also, you can usually ask for less sauce/oil when they are putting your plate together.

So, diversify your protein, vegetables, and fruits. Avoid sugary, oily sauces and food items. Remember, soda, candy, chips, and other such junk foods are the only thing that can be COMPLETELY REMOVED from one’s diet. Meat (or nuts, seeds, beans, soy, etc.), fruits, vegetables, complex carbohydrates (especially brown/wheat), and even some fats (fish, nuts, olives) are good for you!

In general, avoid burger places. If there is a Chinese/Italian/Mexican/some-form-of-meat-and/or-veggies place you can find healthier options. It may take practice, but you can learn to pick out the healthier stuff (generally, if the item falls specifically into the category of meat, carb, vegetable, etc. it will be much healthier than if it is a mass of greasy or sugary goo). Most places will have at least a couple healthy things to eat. If by some cruel fate they don’t, talk to your student council about getting some!

Im 15, a girl and weigh 143. I would like to lose 15 pounds, what is the best way to lose it? Obviously excersise and fruits and vegetables. I need to know which excersises are best for weight loss and toning, also which foods i should eat besides fruit veggies and skinless chicken. Personal experiences would be a huge help too???

The only way is to burn more calories than you ingest (Eat).
Eat 500 calories
Walk off 600 calories
Result- get thinner.

i wanna kno
1. the best sport for weight loss
2. best foods to eat with low calories
3. any tips on daily food/excersize habit etc.

thank yuh so very much:) i am choosing best answer for detailed(not too detailed) answers that are easy to follow!
oh and i’m also trying to lose some fat on my thighs so sum info on how to reduce that would be awsome:)

Firstly, there is no BEST anything for everyone. Every diet and every type of exercise effects everyone differently. What works for one person does not necessarily work for another. The best way to loose weight and BE healthy is to educate yourself. This is an excellent website to get all sorts of information about nutrition:http://www.nutritiondata.com/.

Also, do something you love doing so you’ll do it often. If tennis is the "best" sport for loosing weight, but you hate playing it, what’s the point? Will you stick with something you don’t enjoy? I have had great success just doing brisk walking everyday. Some people love to run. Others enjoy just going to the gym. Do what you enjoy and don’t worry about what the "best" is.

Do not avoid protein. You body requires this to build and mend itself. Especially if you are exercising while "dieting", you absolutely need protein. If you reduce anything, reduce things like bread and other baked goods, pasta, rice, sugar etc. Americans eat way too much of this stuff anyway. When you do eat these sorts of foods, make sure they are of a high quality - like a whole grain bread not just plain white bread. You want nutrient packed foods not over processed.

There is no such thing as "spot reducing". When you diet your body looses fat from all over. In women, the slowest place your body will release your fat is usually around your mid section. This is why in most women, this is the hardest place to loose fat.

So, to sum up: Pick an exercise you like and can stick with at least 3 times a week for an hour. Eat a healthy diet rich in vegetables, fruits and proteins and limited breads, pastas, rices etc. Eat 5 small meals a day so you don’t get hungry and subsequently overeat. DRINK WATER. Water cleanses the body and actually helps it release toxins that can cause some weight gain. Drink half your body weight in ounces per day, ie if you weigh 150lbs, half of this would be 75. So, 75 oz of water a day. Don’t expect instant results. Quality weightloss that will endure, takes time to achieve. This is the method that allowed me to loose and keep off 30lbs.
